Roger Moore replaces James Garner as Maverick. – –
"Maverick" had suffered a sharp decline from its glory days by the time this episode was shot, but it's still a good show. Roger Moore replaces the absent Maverick James Garner, as here, a task about as enviable as its replacement for Sean Connery in the role of James Bond years later. Moore has made some very good episodes, though, especially one written and directed by Robert Altman, but this is not one of them and this is not true. Jack Kelly as Bart Maverick and Moore as hisBeau cousin of hard work, but the script that is not only one right up to snuff, and Kelly plays the material a bit 'too wide, which would have been inconceivable in his work with Garner. It is worth dyed-in-the-wool adherents Maverick (like me) and Roger Moore fans (not believe how young you look at it, shot long before his latest series "The Saint"), but this is should be ordered only after experiencing the classic episodes previously with Garnerand Kelly. It 'easy to see why Moore was chosen to replace Garner, however, since the similarity between the two players throughout the 60's is disturbing. Later in the same season, the studio that has gone better, even if, assuming Garner lookalike Robert Colbert, dressed in signature black suit Garner, and calling his character "Brent".
